Background
Al Gore is the 45th Vice President of the United States, a Nobel Peace laureate, and winner of an Academy Award for his groundbreaking film, An Inconvenient Truth (2006). Referred by Time magazine as “a businessman who is out to change the world,” he is a board director of Apple and chairman of The Climate Reality Project. He’s also chairman of Generation Investment Management, an asset management company incorporating sustainability values into their investments, as well as a senior partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, a preeminent venture firm in Silicon Valley. He was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1976, serving the 4th District of Tennessee. Two of his book titles include Earth in the Balance: Forging a New Common Purpose (2013), and The Future: Six Drivers of Global Change (2013). The Progressive Forum provided the first event in the U.S. where the book, An Inconvenient Truth became available.
