To renew bonds among progressives, The Progressive Forum will host a reunion event in Houston at the restaurant-bar, Weights and Measures, on Monday, November 7, the day before Election Day, from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Guests will enjoy happy hour discounts on food and drinks throughout the social event.
Admission to this Houston social event is free, but an RSVP is requested. RSVP at info@ProgressiveForumHouston.org or reply online if you’ve received an email announcement. Weights and Measures provides ample parking and is located at 2808 Caroline Street, Houston, TX 77004.
Randall Morton, founder and president, said, “I miss the people and the social engagement with like-minded progressives. Many people have expressed the same since we closed the lecture series in Houston. Weights and Measures is high quality, we retained our large email list, I expect a few hundred people in attendance, it will be a fun social event in Houston.”
The Progressive Forum lecture series in Houston closed in the spring of 2014 after a run of 48 events over 10 years at the Wortham Center. Past speakers included Jane Goodall, Bill Moyers, Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, and many more. An archival website features past speakers with video, biographical sketches, and related links.
